Crushes. Everyone has one no matter how much they want to deny it. Mine, well I have two. I like them in two different ways though. One I like because I know him so well, the other let's just say, he's a total hunk. Now lets talk about crushes in general. Lets start with the origin of the term "Crush". Just to warn you this probably isn't true. This term originated because if your crush doesn't go the way you want it to that's exactly how you feel: Crushed. It makes sense now doesn't it?
To me there are a few different ways to "Crush". Here they are:
The Visual Crush: This is when you are out with a couple of friends and you spot someone who is a total HOTTIE. This is the guy or girl that has a flat stomach or abbs, a great face, and an amazing smile. One thing they probably don't have though is brains. This is NOT the person you want to spend your life with.
The Minor Crush: This is one of the most common types of Crushes. When this person walks by you get small butterflies in your stomach. Sure you like them for a while and may even date them for a couple of weeks, but this relationship does NOT last. Those feelings that you have for this person fade within a month or two. And you begin to crush on another apple of the sea, or whatever the saying is.
The Long Term Crush: This is the person that you want to be with most of all. When you see them your amazed by how amazing this one person can be. You love everything about them. Their eyes are the most beautiful of colors, even when they look silly, or stupid, to you they couldn't look better. If you look at pictures of them you can't decided whether its a great picture or you just like them that much. They probably remind you of someone you know or already love. This may even be the person you spend the rest of your life with. And if you find out they don't like you or you two break up, you go into a depression, you won't have a conversation for days maybe even months. Plus there's always that one song that reminds you of them, and you can't help but play it over and over again.
These are my thoughts on Crushes and how they work. You can love them you can hate them, but this is how my teenage girl eyes see things. The most important thing to remember is that no crush is worth loosing a friendship. So if two of you like the same person or your friend goes out with the person you like, don't get mad or angry. Talk it out; maybe your friend has had feelings for them for a long time. Don't get crushed my Little Nothings.
